English 12b Final Blog

Jeffconet is an interesting place, their is diversity, and individuality like no other high school I can think of. When I first came to Jeffco net it took me awhile to get used to the setting of the whole school.  Now that I have been here for a year I have accepted the way that we are taught here.
Every person has a different way that they learn, at this school I believe that is what this school wants you to realize that every person is an individuality capable of many different things.  We all perceive things differently and we have have a different way to think of what we are learning and how we can use it later in our life. I learned that from this high school it has taught me that we are individuals and it doesn't matter if you are slower than someone or if there work is better than your work, because it is all an opinion. Your opinion about yourself is what really matters and by putting your best effort in to everything you read, write, and create is how you find out how you really learn. Doing what you need to do to learn is what matters in your life.
Digital literacy plays apart in my future, because "digital" is our future, everything that we are learning in our classes will help us in our future even though most of the information will be outdated, the language will still be there the thought is still there of how we read, write and create our work.

Art Critique

The piece of art that I chose is a very unique painting done by Bev Doolittle.  The name of this piece is "The Forrest has Eyes". The reason I chose this painting is because of its complexity, from the emotions of all the faces to how they all tell the story of the rider and where he's going. The first thing I notice when I look at this picture is the emotions that the faces are creating. When I see the faces in the background I picture where the rider has come from and the reason why he is on this quest. You can see the sadness, happiness, and determination in the background, as if he was coming from somewhere that cared about him but yet they are accepting that he is on his way to new beginning. I noticed that the faces that are in front of him are the largest of the faces, I think she did that to say,  you should always look at what's ahead and which path to take. The second largest face on the right looks as if it is saying to observe all of your surroundings because his life could depend on observation and observation will lead you were you want to go. The faces in the water seem to show that he respects the path that he is taking and wherever it may take him. Some of the faces look like he has been on a trip through the forrest with his two horses, alone but not alone to his imagination that takes over from the long quest. Overall I think this painting is undoubtedly fascinating to the eye and the mind, it makes one wonder the eye of your mind and what you see and feel.
